萧凡：臣以为，仁君广山薮之大，纳切直之谋，忠臣尽謇谔之节，不畏逆耳之害，是以高祖舍周昌桀、纣之譬，孝文嘉袁盎人豕之讥，武帝纳东方朔宣室之正，元帝容薛广德自刎之切。今明诏纳谏，推元之诚，引咎克躬，谘访群吏。言事者，承风响应，争为切直，必然之势，若嘉谋异策，宜辄纳用，良药苦口，如其讥刺，且优游宽容，以示圣朝无讳之美，以广直言之路。
